1dPistons waived G/F Ron Harper Jr.

After spending his first two NBA seasons with the Raptors, Harper signed a two-way deal with the Pistons before the start of the 2024-25 campaign. He appeared in just one game for Detroit, spending most of his time with the franchise’s G League affiliate. Due to Detroit’s perimeter depth, Harper’s departure will not impact fantasy basketball.

DET Shooting Guard #1

2dESPN’s Shams Charania reports Colby Jones has signed a two-way contract with the Pistons.

Jones was acquired via trade by the Thunder and subsequently waived last month. The 23-year-old shooting guard averaged 8.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.3 steals in 15 games for the Wizards last year. While the Pistons are a playoff team with a deep rotation, Jones will serve as valuable depth in Detroit.

Bobi Klintman

8dBobi Klintman had 20 points (7-of-11 FGs), four rebounds, one assist, two steals, one block and three three-pointers in the Pistons’ 108-88 victory over the Heat on Thursday.

Klintman needed a big performance to salvage what was an otherwise disappointing Summer League. While Klintman’s path to significant playing time on the playoff-bound Pistons remains cloudy, the upside in his game is apparent. He appeared in just eight games for the Pistons in his rookie season last year, but his four-year contract signed last July should give him an inside track to a roster spot.

Ron Holland

DET Small Forward

10dRon Holland led the Pistons with 22 points (6-of-12 FGs, 9-of-10 FTs), six rebounds, two assists, six steals, one three-pointer and seven turnovers in an 89-73 loss to the Timberwolves on Tuesday.

After dropping 28 points in his first game of the summer, Holland was quieter on Sunday, but he got back on track against Minnesota. It wasn’t enough to get a win, but he has been impressive so far, averaging 21.7 points, 2.3 three-pointers and four steals per game. Holland should be in for a monster second year in the NBA.

Tolu Smith

12dTolu Smith amassed 15 points (4-of-7 FGs, 7-of-8 FTs), 12 rebounds, four assists and two blocks in Sunday’s win over the Rockets.

Smith is entering the final year of his two-year, two-way contract, making these games in Las Vegas critical. The issue for him is Detroit’s frontcourt rotation, as Jalen Duren, Isaiah Stewart and Paul Reed are all under contract for the 2025-26 campaign. His skill set is similar to that of Duren and Stewart, who also don’t offer much value as a face-up post player. Smith’s fantasy prospects for the 2025-26 season aren’t the best, even if he offers some intrigue as a rebounder and rim protector.

Daniss Jenkins

DET Point Guard #24

12dDaniss Jenkins tallied 23 points (7-of-10 FGs, 6-of-6 FTs), two rebounds, six assists, two steals, one block and three three-pointers in Sunday’s win over the Rockets.

After spending last season with the Pistons on a two-way contract, Jenkins is a free agent this summer. And with Detroit having one two-way slot available, he’s among the players competing for that opportunity. Performances like the one he produced on Sunday will only help Jenkins’ chances of earning another deal, whether with Detroit or another team. This won’t impact fantasy basketball, but Jenkins’ play in Las Vegas will impact how the Pistons finalize their training camp roster.

Chaz Lanier

14dChaz Lanier had 10 points (4-of-11 FGs), two rebounds, four assists, one steal, one block and two three-pointers against the Knicks on Friday.

The Pistons drafted Lanier because of his shooting. The 23-year-old made 3.2 threes per game and shot 39.5 percent from behind the three-point line last year at Tennessee. His Summer League debut wasn’t indicative of the talent the Pistons saw in him. Lanier had just 10 points on 11 shots and was 2-of-7 from behind the three-point line. That’s why he’s getting some much needed experience in Summer League. Lanier will look to provide the Pistons with much needed outside shooting after the team moved on from Tim Hardaway Jr. and Malik Beasley this offseason.

Ron Holland

14dRon Holland had 28 points (8-of-12 FGs), 11 rebounds, two assists, three steals, one block and four three-pointers in the Pistons’ 104-86 victory over the Knicks on Friday.

Holland did all of his damage in 28 minutes and sat out the fourth quarter. The 20-year-old dominated in all phases of the game. Holland didn’t play regular minutes with the Pistons last year, but the second-year player showed his experience and was clearly the most talented player on the floor. Holland will look to join the Pistons’ regular rotation this season.

Duncan Robinson

DET Shooting Guard #55

24dESPN’s Shams Charania reports the Pistons signed Duncan Robinson to a three-year, $48 million deal.

Having exercised his $20 million early termination option on Sunday, Robinson’s chances of staying with the Heat were slim. On Tuesday, he found his next home, with the Pistons acquiring the veteran sharpshooter via sign-and-trade. In exchange for Robinson, the Pistons sent Simone Fontecchio to Miami. The Heat’s franchise leader in three-pointers made, Robinson averaged 11.0 points, 2.3 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 2.6 three-pointers per game last season. With Malik Beasley being the subject of a gambling probe and Tim Hardaway Jr. leaving the team to sign with the Nuggets, adding Robinson gives Detroit a valuable three-point shooter heading into next season.

Caris LeVert

DET Shooting Guard #3

25dESPN’s Shams Charania reports the Pistons signed G/F Caris LeVert to a two-year, $29 million contract.

The former University of Michigan standout is headed back to the state, as he has reportedly agreed to a deal with the Pistons. With Malik Beasley the subject of a gambling probe, Detroit could not afford not to add a bench scorer to their rotation. Between Cleveland and Atlanta, LeVert appeared in 64 games last season, averaging 12.1 points, 3.2 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.7 three-pointers per game. LeVert finished the season ranked outside the top 150 in nine-cat formats and should again be a late-round option in standard league drafts.
